HMWSSB promises Hyderabad's residents daily water supply in summer


Addressing a press conference here on Friday, HMWS&SB managing director M Jagadeeshwar said, "There is sufficient water in all major reservoirs. We can supply an assured 340 million gallons a day to the people in the city."

The water board is in talks with the Central Power Distribution Company Ltd ( CPDCL) authorities on the measures to be taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply. The water board has repaired 608 of the 1,118 borewells, as part of the "100 Days" programme, the MD said.

The water board has decided to act tough on illegal water connections. "We have decided to register criminal case against house owners and two department officials if illegal connections are found. So far, we have registered a total of seven criminal cases against the owners and a lineman," he said.
