The water supply system was badly affected by operation & maintenance of the tube wells, resulting in high electricity consumption, bad service delivery, more cost for operation and maintenance, and finally, immense pressure to provide interrupted water supply. In this context, the Uttaranchal Jal Sansthan developed a system called SCADA which is now used for operation and maintenance of tube wells to provide un interrupted water supply.
The implementation process of the entire initiative includes the following:

1. Implantation of the SCADA Automation system all over Uttaranchal
2. Data acquisition from this system to analyze and enhance the performance

1. With the automation of tubewells, a net saving of Rs. 10 crores and 75 lakhs has been achieved.
2. Uninterrupted water supply is now being provided.

It is sustainable and replicable.
